I don’t like to be pigeon holed by half truths and false choices.
Seems lately there are destructive narratives that the media or facebook delivers that leave people thinking there’s only one choice. We should recognize the nonsense when we see it, and call it out.
Here’s some examples
You are either with Donald Trump, or you support the Republican Establishment:
Not true. I oppose Trump for the opposite reason of the squatters who call themselves legislators in Washington. They’re scared he’ll do what he’s said. I’m convinced he’ll do little of what he’s said. (I oppose him for far more than that, but I’ll hold on that for now).
You’re either for Trump or you’re for the protesters in Chicago:
Not True: I oppose both: Donald Trump is a tornado of half truths, and contains the integrity of an Italian Don. (Although they do live by some sort of code, so perhaps I’m insulting the mob here?) At the same time, I think the national protest movement is largely being financed by Soros and the owners of the fifty jets that recently flew to that mystery island on the east coast. That whole movement is suspect to me. It’s being driven by far more people than that, not the least of which are the power brokers like Sharpton, Hillary, Bernie and others.
The protest movement is also driven by people who follow Jesus Christ since they know that someone who actually follows Christ is a changed person, which of course is not the case with Donald.
Some oppose Donald for his stand on immigration, others oppose him for his misunderstanding of basic economics and how jobs are created. It just depends on the person, but saying there’s only one reason to oppose Trump is ridiculous. He’s given us a plethora of sane reasons that would justify keeping him very very far away from any power or influence. In fact, just about everything he says gives someone a passionate reason to oppose him. Even when we could agree with his policies, those who know the process realize the unlikelihood of him implementing what he promises.
I oppose Trump for the opposite reason of the squatters who call themselves legislators in Washington. They’re scared he’ll do what he’s said. I’m convinced he’ll do little of what he’s said.
All politicians lie, so we should choose Trump, since he’s better at it.
Not true. And Dumb. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have actually been remarkably consistent in how they’ve lived as have Carson (until he endorsed Trump), and Rand Paul and Carly Fiorina. This does characterize the terrible quality of the logic I get from many Trump supporters, however. Throwing in with this scoundrel who will “knock their heads together in Washington”, when we know we can’t trust him is ridiculous. Even the establishment Republicans are more consistent in their progressiveness than Trump is with his conservatism. How sad is that?
When it comes to ridding the world of silly false choices, you’re either with me, or you’re with every force of evil you’ve ever imagined. Unless you subscribe to my blog and share it. Then you’re fine.
